Over time many people in their 40s and 50s have been to several dentist and have tended to deal with 1 or 2 teeth at a time.  But a larger proportion of these people are also what we call bruxers...or teeth grinders.   As a result, their teeth tend to flatten out on the top edge and many people are told, incorrectly, that it looks like the "brush your teeth too hard!"

Lets talks about brushing too hard first.  You should be using a soft brush and if you are brushing too hard, then why doesn't the brush rip your gums that are adjacent to the teeth?  Why isnt' the part above the worn spot also have a worn spot equal in size to the width of the toothbrush?   Because it is not your toothbrush.    First, human enamel is the hardest material in the human body.  Those flat spots on the tops of your teeth are called "wear facets" and the flat concavity along your gums is called an "abfraction lesion". Both are caused by excessive grinding over a period of time.

When you factor in these problems along with the wear and tear, teeth actually become shorter.  Now there are a couple of ways to restore this.  One is one tooth at a time.  The problem is that teeth fit together like gears.  If you replace one worn gear, you have to replace it with yet another workn looking one or they just will not work.

But another way of fixing it is called "Full Mouth Reconstruction" which is probably the most difficult of all dental procedures since the dentist has to have training in physics, biochemistry, TMJ dysfunction, aesthetics, orthodontics and more, all at the same time.  But the beauty of it is that it is fast and can be accomplished it in as little as 2-5 visits.  In most cases, the metals are removed and not used again, which for a lot of people is healthier to their gums and lowers CRP levels.   With full mouth reconstruction, we can lighten, lengthen, straighten and give you a younger smile.

Listen, you do not have to have "patchwork" dentistry of 1-2 teeth at a time which serves only to reinforce old problem.  Full Mouth Reconstruction is an alternative to yesterday's dentistry that would take 10+ dental visits or more.  What used to take days can now be done in hours, with no metal, and with a smile that you just will not hide from pictures in the day forward.

To see if you are a candidate for full mouth reconstruction, please give us a call today for your complimentary consultation.  See for yourself why most people who have it done almost always say, "I wish I had done this sooner!"   You've sacrificed years taking care of your children, taking them to practice, school, and more.   Now it's time you did something for yourself.  Did you know that when people look at you they either focus on your eyes or your smile?  And most focus on the smile.  Remember, you only get one shot at leaving a first impression.   Let me help you make an impression they will never forget.  Full Mouth Reconstruction, do this one for yourself.
